What SEASON are YOU In?
What SEASON are YOU In?
Written by Fran Conner
Look around and see SPRING bringing forth beauty from Jesus, the Creator of our Universe. As a member of the Sales Team, I go out to meet clients and business prospects, which allows me time to enjoy the sights of the spring season. Sometimes the BEAUTY just takes my breath away as I see beautiful white and pink flowering trees, yellow daffodils and forsythia, the freshly mowed green grass … and yes, I even get to see weeds and dandelions springing forth. While summer is my FAVORITE season, I do love spring. Spring brings new life and brings me HOPE after the long, cold, bleak, grey – did I say LONG - Michiana winter.
Spring brings me HOPE of soon to arrive warm temperatures and swimming and boat rides with my husband, the beauty of summer sunsets, bonfires and picnics, and more. Those ARE wonderful things to me and as we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, I have HOPE that the BEST is yet to come. (My “word” for 2022 is HOPE and God points it out to me EVERY single day. Thank you, God!)
Spring reminds me of the changing SEASONS … not just in nature but in the SEASONS of LIFE. What SEASON are you in? God tells us in Ecclesiastes 3:1 “For EVERYTHING there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven”. There are times to laugh and times to cry and I’ve certainly wept a lot recently as I’ve lost friends and neighbors in their 60’s and 70’s. I’ve wept for friends who have gotten divorced or have lost a loved one.
We have 3 generations all working under one roof at WFRN … and it’s very interesting to see the different SEASONS of life we are in. We have new team members experiencing their first “adult job”. Some WFRN team members are going into their first home or are involved in weddings being planned – either their own OR that of their adult kids. Many of our team members are in the middle of raising their young families. Some are dealing with aging parents or grandparents.
These are the SEASONS they’re in. For me and my husband, we’re to become empty nesters AGAIN as our grandson, now a US Marine Reservist, will soon head off to college. Every day we are one step closer to RETIREMENT and picturing what THAT might look life. (I see WARM winters and freedom to choose what I’ll do each day.) That is the SEASON we are in.
Maybe God has given you a SEASON and you’re not sure WHAT to make of it. Maybe God has you in a SEASON of want or of plenty … He wants to remind you that GOD is your provider – and HE is more than enough. It may be a SEASON of hard wilderness, loneliness or a situation that seems hopeless. Perhaps it seems God is silent. He is WITH you. Joshua 1:5 As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will never leave you nor forsake you. We often don’t know the reasons for the seasons we go through but God does. He knows right where you are. In Esther 4:14 God says “And who knows but that you have come to this position for such a time as this”. Wherever you are, pray in your season – wait on the Lord. Lean into Him. Trust Him. That’s what I am doing! It’s the SEASON that I am in.
