WFRN has been playing contemporary Christian music on our Michiana station for over 35 years ... but the story does not begin in 1979. As WCMR and WFRN, our AM station has been serving the Elkhart community since 1956, receiving national recognition and serving our community with local programming and Christian programming for more than 50 years.
The Story of WFRN
May of 1979 marked the culmination of a dream. For years, Ed Moore had dreamed of a format of light Contemporary Christian Music which would be strongly competitive in the marketplace. In 1979, Your Friend, WFRN was born. Today Mr. Moore continues at the head of what has become one of the most respected and listened to Christian radio stations in the United States.
WFRN FM 104.7 continues to rank high amongst Contemporary Christian Stations, and the 1,300 religious stations in the nation of all religious in audience size. And we are not even close to a large radio market. This translates into great impact for Christ in this area. Join with us in praising God for this unique radio ministry.
