WASHINGTON, D.C-- Hundreds of gay and lesbian couples exchanged wedding vows Sunday. Washington's new gay marriage measure took effect this past week and Sunday marked the first day same-sex weddings could take place. Washington joins Maine and Maryland in becoming the first states to pass the measure by popular vote.
