INDIANAPOLIS-- A federal judge rejected an Indianapolis atheist groups bid for the right to perform marriages. The Judge said that granting clergy the right to perform marriages is the kind of accommodation of religion the First Amendment protects, not a denial of rights to the nonreligious. Indiana attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union believes the ruling should be appealed.
