VALPARAISO-- The Porter County Council officially rejected County Treasurer Mike Bucko‘s proposal to buy more than $15-million dollars in municipal bonds to help Lake County meet its 2013 budget. Bucko has the authority to make the investment from the sale of the county hospital without County Council or Commissioners‘ approval... but he‘s been under pressure from them not to proceed with the deal.
