DETROIT Parents who could show that a fetus was at least 12 weeks along at the end of a year would receive a tax break. Republican Michigan lawmakers are considering this legislation. Under the proposal, a fetus would be treated the same as a child for purposes of a tax deduction. Officials say its an attempt to recognize that a pregnancy brings expenses.
