ISRAEL-- Israel and Syria are now formally at war, according to BBC News. Israeli officials fired warning shots in response to Syrian fireshots. An Israeli Defense Minister tells BBC that additional shelling from Syria will call for tougher response. This is the first time Israel fires back since the Middle East war of 1973.
