LAWRENCE-- Mayor Dean Jessup will sign the city‘s new budget today. This comes after the Lawrence Common Council approved the $42 million spending plan for 2013 Thursday night. Jessup says that for the first time since 2010, the spending plan projects a small surplus by year‘s end. The budget follows city fiscal woes and personnel cuts.
