CHICAGO-- Federal prosecutors in New York are suing the Bank of America for mortgage fraud. They accuse it of carrying scheme that was started by its Countrywide Financial unit. The suit says Countrywide sold defective residential mortgage loans that resulted in more than $1 billion dollars in losses and several foreclosures.
