The mayor of Elkhart vetoed next year's budget that would have cut 8 top positions including the mayor's assistant. Mayor Dick Moore understands the council needs to find a balanced 20-13 budget but he said this action was the best for the people of Elkhart. This is the first time the mayor has used his veto power since he's been in office.
