The City of Lawrence is laying off 20 EMT's due to budget cuts. Lawrence Mayor Dean Jessup says the city has a $2 million shortfall that would have caused the city to run out of money by December. However, City Council member Jeff Coats says many council members are opposed to the Mayor‘s plans.
