NATIONAL:

A conservative legal group is suing the State of California over its law that bans conversion therapy for homosexual minors. Liberty Counsel is backing conservative families so LGBT minors can get directed in the right path. A spokesman supporting the ban says the bill is meant to protect homosexual minors from the such practice.

There'a new campaign to motivate the ladies..Concerned Women for American President unveiled "She Votes 2012" on Tuesday. The goal is to inform conservative women about things affecting them as females and the impact they can have by voting. There's helpful resources on their website at she-votes-2012.org.

Here's a neat story.. Archaelogists discovered a huge reservoir beneath Jerusalem's Old City. The reservoir dates back to the First Temple built by King Solomon and is one of the largest ever from that time. Israeli experts believe pilgrims used the water for bathing and activities used by people in the Temple.

If you see tents infront of houses or even small tabernacles, that's because of Sukkot. Hundreds of Jews and Christians in the US are celebrating the Feast of Tabernacles, or Sukkot in Hebrew. CBN News says it's a week where disciples live in tents to remember where the Lord's people dwelled after escaping the bondage of Egypt. Sukkot is found in Leviticus 23.

STATE/REGIONAL:

President Barack Obama and Republican Mitt Romeny will be face to face tonight for the first Presidential debate. The Indiana Election Division says Indiana is considered to be in the Mitt Romney column. You can watch the debate at 9 pm tonight.

Both parties are seeking the key formula to win the votes of the group that‘s the hardest to coax to the polls: young voters. State officials are worried that your young adults won't care to vote this November election. In 2008, only 52 percent of Americans under 30 years of age voted, and that's the narrowest gap 1972, according to Network Indiana.

The beloved Founder of Hoosier Tire was laid to rest Tuesday. Bob Newton passed away last week at 85 years of age. Newton's procession included a Hoosier Tire Semi which is what several Hoosiers remember him for.

These athletes are among the best-educated athletes in the country..that's right, they're Notre Dame athletes. The National Collegiate Scouting Association ranked the university first among division 1 and 3rd overall.

NORTHERN INDIANA/SOUTHWEST MI, (MICHIANA)

A St. Joseph county judge will wait to see if a federal court rules on whether recordings of South Bend police tapes can be released before stepping into the legal fight. The judge says he'll wait until early December before taking on the case. The tapes are believed to have offensive comments from police.

As the holiday season draws near, a Meijer store in Michigan will be hiring thousands.. The giant company in Grand Rapids is planning to hire about 12 thousand new employees to keep up with holiday demands. Anyone looking to apply can complete an online form.

A new payment option by NIPSCO could help your budget.. The company is offering a Price Protection Service which allows customers to lock in their commodity rate for an entire year. Right now, the rate is about 55 cents per therm..but those who go with this new program, will not see an increase in therm rate.

NORTHCENTRAL INDIANA:

It looks like Kokomo is closer to approving a new voucher school for high school drop outs. Goodwill Education wants to open an Excel Center in the area for adult dropouts.. Residents attended a public meeting to voice their opinion and there was a huge positive response about the initiative. The board will make its official decision on October 15th.

You'll start hearing of new student programs at Indiana State University. The Lilly Endownment grant awarded the university on Tuesday to fund its Networks and financial policies. The school says the 3 million dollar grant will be used to tweek and better it's programs.
