As a public service to area churches and Christian organizations, WFRN sets aside a certain amount of time (and this webspace) for announcements of events which are of interest to all our listeners. The catagories are:
1. Church Events: This is a free event where a free-will offering may be taken
2. Community Events: This is a free event with no ticket charge. It may be a fund raiser with the proceeds going to a project within the community.
3. Community Service: Programs and services for which there is no charge for participation, such as homeless shelters, pregnancy centers, etc.

The City Of Elkhart presents "The Concert In The Park" summer series, with performances by the Elkhart Municipal Band. The concerts are every Tuesday night (weather permitting), from June 3rd through August 12, at 8pm. It's free admission.

August 16
Concord High School's Class of 78 is celebrating their 30 year reunion on August 16th. It will be at the Athena Room of the old "Hotel Elkhart,"in downtown Elkhart. Lighthouse Baptist Church at 2445 West Kern Road-Marion, presents "God & Country" VBS, on July 14th thru the 18th, with the final program on Sunday-July 20th from 7pm to 9pm. Bus transportation is available in some areas. For pre-registration, call: 765-384-7572.

July 11
St. Mary Of The Annunciation Catholic Church-Bristol, will have a "Hidden Treasures" Rummage Sale on Friday-July 11 and Saturday-July 12, from 9am to 2pm. It will be in the Annunciation Hall. The church is located at 411 West Vistula Street (S.R. 120) Bristol.

July 14
The First Baptist Church of Kokomo presents VBS-"Outrigger Island-Living God's Unshakeable Truth." It's Monday-July 14th thru Thursday-July 17th. The time will be 6 to 7:30pm each evening, and Celebration Sunday is July 20th. For more information, call the church at: 765-452-5451.

His Kid's Pre-School is now enrolling morning and afternoon classes for children ages 4-6. Contact Tami at 260-894-4151. Space is limited. They are a non-profit organization, located in the Cromwell United Methodist Church.

July 14
Living Word Church of Coloma Michigan is asking for your help to send small toys and other small items to the Children Of The Vietnam Refugees, by joining them on Monday-July 14th, from 5pm to 8pm.....at the McDonalds in Coloma. Enjoy a hot-cake supper-all you can eat and drink for only $3.00 ! Get your children involved, as they can donate a small gift for children in Cambodia. Albright United Methodist Church of Mishawaka presents and Ice Cream Social on Monday-July 14th, from 5:30 to 8:30pm in the courtyard of the church, located at 504 West Mishawaka Ave.

The Coldwater Church of the Nazarene will be conducting an Upward Basketball and Cheerleading camp for children K-6th grade. Registration forms can be picked up at the church, at 537 Sonet Lane. Waldo The Clown presents-"The Greatest Show On Heaven And Earth." It will be at Main Street Christian Church in Russiaville, July 28 thru August 1. Calvary Baptist Church, 27664 County Road 24, Elkhart will be having Vacation Bible School, from Sunday-July 6th thru Friday-July 11th, from 6:30pm to 9pm. New Hope Assembly of Three Rivers presents "The Jubilee Gang," as they host a Kid's Crusade on July 11th, 12th, and 13th-from 6 to 7:30pm....for 1st grade and up. West Middleton United Methodist Church, 2428 S. 480 W., West Middleton is having a chicken noodle dinner on Friday, July 11th, from 5 to 7:30pm. A free will donation will be accepted. Dine-in or carry-outs available. Proceeds will go to additional classrooms.

Elkhart County Community Baptist Church, 23805 Sunnyside Ave., Elkhart is having a car wash and bake sale, July 12th, from 9am to 2pm. The church is located between US 33 & CR 13 in Dunlap.

St. John Of The Cross Episcopal Church, 601 Vistula Street, Bristol is inviting the community to a Strawberry Social, on Saturday-July 12th from 12 to 5pm. It will be on the parish lawn. The Annual Constantine Senior Citizen Appreciation Dinner will be held at the Constantine High School cafeteria, on Sunday-July 13th at 1pm. This annual dinner is served by the CCA, and is free to all senior citizens and their spouses. Free tickets are available from the Constantine Village Office at: 435-2085.
