As a public service to area churches and Christian organizations, WFRN sets aside a certain amount of time (and this webspace) for announcements of events which are of interest to all our listeners. The catagories are:
1. Church Events: This is a free event where a free-will offering may be taken
2. Community Events: This is a free event with no ticket charge. It may be a fund raiser with the proceeds going to a project within the community.
3. Community Service: Programs and services for which there is no charge for participation, such as homeless shelters, pregnancy centers, etc.

May Day is always a big day in Walton each year. This year May Day is May 1st. People living in the Walton area should plan to have yard sales as that is one of the highlights of the event. Others should plan to visit for the good food and to shop. The Lions will have a fish fry at lunch. The Walton Christian Church will have a Chicken N'noodle dinner. The Friends of the Walton Public Library will be selling BBQ pork sandwiches. There will be free balloons for the kiddies. It may seem like a May is a long way away, but spring will come and you need to be prepared.
