As a public service to area churches and Christian organizations, WFRN sets aside a certain amount of time (and this webspace) for announcements of events which are of interest to all our listeners. The catagories are:
1. Church Events: This is a free event where a free-will offering may be taken
2. Community Events: This is a free event with no ticket charge. It may be a fund raiser with the proceeds going to a project within the community.
3. Community Service: Programs and services for which there is no charge for participation, such as homeless shelters, pregnancy centers, etc.

“Wednesday Bird Walk” on May 2nd will offer the chance to experience the peak of spring migration on an exciting tour seeking out seasonal birds. The two-hour trek is free and all birding equipment will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring hiking boots, bug spray, and wear long pants for the prairie. The group will head out at 8 a.m., so please plan travel time accordingly. Boot Lake Nature Preserve is located one mile northwest of Elkhart, off of C.R. 3.
